It serves as a reminder that while the arrival of a baby is joyous, the mother's own journey should also be acknowledged and honoured.

Organising and facilitating a mother's blessing requires careful planning and consideration to ensure the celebration is suited to your values.

Here are some steps I take to help create an unforgettable experience:

  • I will begin by having a chat with the expectant mother and discussing her desires, preferences, and any cultural or spiritual traditions that she would like to incorporate. It is important to ensure that the mother feels comfortable and supported, so her input should guide the planning process.

  • Choose a venue that aligns with the mother's preferences and provides a serene and relaxed atmosphere. It could be a private home, a lush garden, a beach, or even a local retreat centre. The setting should be calming and conducive to deep connection and reflection.

  • Plan meaningful activities: Consider incorporating activities that promote self-care, bonding, and reflection. They might include art, weavings, birthing beads, massages or card readings.

  • Reach out to close friends, family members, and loved ones who can offer their love and support to the expectant mother and facilitate thoughtful gifts that are in line with the mother’s wishes.

  • Set up a circle on the day and facilitate the day
